An excerpt of the short film, "Piano Mums". Inspired by Amy Chua’s “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother”, and hit TV shows such as “Fresh Off the Boat” and “The Family Law”, Piano Mums is clash of cultures between a mother and son. Xiaohu’s strict parenting style and inherent “Chinese-ness” versus her severely westernised son who simply seeks to live a normal kid’s life. It is a bittersweet story about a mother wanting her son to redeem the successes she had to sacrifice, and a boy lost between two cultures, trying to grow into his identity. Role: Sound Designer
